Why you applied?

We knew that the Coreus Foundation wanted to help fund work to protect the environment, and we thought that our work creating a brand new community woodland between Bristol and Bath might fit really well. We needed funding to buy 200 trees for our volunteers to plant.

How has the grant made an impact?

Last winter we managed to plant an absolutely enormous number of trees, meaning the new Lower Chew Forest is almost fully planted. We are now working to make the new community woodland accessible for everyone by creating walking paths and facilities on site, and running activities with local schools and community groups.
