St George's Hospital Charity
£1000
Why you applied?
Our research led us to apply to the Coreus Foundation as a newly established Foundation
How has the grant made an impact?
Thanks to the generosity of the Coreus Foundation, and that of others, we have now raised £3.7 million towards our £5 million target. This means we have reached a significant milestone in our Children’s Appeal and have started the refurbishment of Nicholls Ward, which supported more than 2,300 children and young people last year.
During May-June our team focussed on decanting Nicholls Ward into Cavell Ward. As part of this move, we worked make Cavell as paediatric friendly as possible, ensuring children continue to receive our outstanding CQC rated care while construction takes place.
With this groundwork in place, transformation works on Nicholls Ward officially began last month. Based on the current plans, we anticipate completing the refurbishment by November 2026, creating a brighter, more dignified and modern environment for young patients and their families.
Our focus going forwards is to raise the remaining £1.3million needed to transform the Pinckney Ward at St George’s, completing the project.
