Exeter Food Action
£1000
EFA applied to the Coreus Foundation having seen their support to local charities and wanting to engage more with local businesses. Through 2025 EFA has seen an increased demand from our partner charities for food that would otherwise be waste from supermarkets or other food manufacturers.
Meeting that demand increased EFA overheads and also increased the need or additional volunteers.
The Coreus Grant has assisted in meeting ongoing overheads such as utility bills for our chilled food store in our warehouse as well as allowing us to encourage and celebrate the work of our volunteers through a couple of coffee mornings.
This has enabled us to continue to grow our relationships with Partners and suppliers to rescue more surplus food and distribute to frontline charities, organisations, soup kitchens and lunch clubs supporting the most vulnerable in our community.
Our Chair of Trustees Nigel Walsh commented "we are so pleased with our Partnership with Coreus. Their contribution to funds is very welcome but more so is their interest and engagement with us as a local charity- and especially their team's hard work in decorating our warehouse for us. We look forward to continuing this great relationship."
