We applied for the grant to address a specific gap in our outdoor reading provision. While our school has made great strides in building a rich and engaging reading culture indoors—thanks to generous support from our PTA and Governors—there remained limited opportunities for children to enjoy stories during outdoor play. We wanted to create spaces where stories could be accessed and enjoyed in fresh air, fostering a love of reading beyond the classroom.

How has the grant made an impact?

Thanks to your generous donation, we were able to purchase crate seating with cushions for a whole class, a reading throne and weatherproof book boxes. These resources have transformed children's use of our outdoor areas into portable book nooks and storytelling spaces. Now, every playtime is an opportunity for children to build positive reading habits in a relaxed and joyful environment.
